A Fun and Faithful Reimagining of Synths Beloved by Composers from the SNES and N64 All the Way to the Modern Era.
RomplerBox is a modernized take on the 1997 General User-GS soundfont, an open-source collection of sounds crafted in the likeness of the SC-55, SC-88, JV-1080 and similar all-arounder romplers beloved by video game musicians of the 90s and early 2000s. Though it's not sampled from these synths, they sound familiar.
You could mis-recognize the horns from any number of Zelda games, guitars from obscure MS-DOS titles, and even drum kits and 303 basses from classic house and techno tracks.
